An intensive practical school for young lawyers on Human Rights took place at the OSCE Academy from 25 till 29 February 2008. Participants are law graduates and senior course law students from four Central Asian countries. Topic of the training courses was focused on the Human Rights in Detention. Study topics also included the International Criminal Court, International and National Mechanisms for Human Rights Protection in Criminal Law, Legal Reform, Juvenile Justice and Jury. Lectures, presentations, group work and round table discussions were exercised as a method of instruction during the courses.

 

Lecturers represented the Supreme Court of Russia, Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Justice, Human Rights NGOs and the Prosecutor’s Office.
