Two representatives of the Academy, Ms. Janyl Bokonbaeva and Ms. Anar
Musabaeva, took part in the Second Global International Studies Conference,
launched and presided over by the World International Studies Committee.
The Conference was hosted by the University of Ljubljana Social Sciences
Faculty on 23 - 26 July 2008. Central and East European International
Studies Association was entrusted with organization of the event.
Around 900 scholars from around the globe engaged in a fruitful exchange of
ideas and knowledge, contributing to further elaboration of thought on the
Conference's overarching theme of "What Keeps us Apart, What Keeps us
Together: Global Order, Justice, Values".
Academy's representatives took an active part in the workings of the
conference, delivering reports and acting as chairs and discussants of
panels on reform and effectiveness of international organizations and
Eurasian political transformations.
